In 2014, I was awarded the La Caixa Fellowship (Beca de la Obra Social “la Caixa”) to pursue a PhD at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The scholarship was presented by King Juan Carlos I of Spain at a ceremony in Madrid.

About the Scholarship

The La Caixa Fellowship is one of Spain’s most prestigious and competitive scholarship programmes, funding outstanding Spanish students to pursue graduate studies at leading universities worldwide. The programme is managed by the Fundación “la Caixa” and has supported thousands of scholars since its creation.

The award ceremony was presided by King Juan Carlos I of Spain, who personally awarded the scholarship to each fellow.
